Geographer and Latin Americanist specialised in society, demography and regional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. From 1992 to 2017 she worked at the Center for Latin-American Studies at the University of Warsaw. Currently she is Assistant Professor at the American Studies Center of the same university. Between 2011--2013 she directed the research project "¿Quo vadis Cuba? Implications for Europe and Poland". In 2016 she was a Visiting Professor in the Universidad de Panamá's School of International Relations, thanks to the Erasmus Mundus programme. In 2017 she was a Visiting Professor at IHEAL at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. She is co-coordinator of the scientific blog quovadiscuba.com.
