Susanne Gratius is Professor of Political Science and International Relations in the Faculty of Law at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and Associate Senior Researcher at CIDOB, Barcelona. She previously worked as Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations at the Complutense University of Madrid, and has been a researcher at several public institutions and think tanks across Europe (FRIDE, Madrid, IRELA, Madrid, SWP, Berlin, GIGA, Hamburg). She has published on relations between the EU and Latin America, foreign policy, regional integration, promotion of democracy and emerging powers. Her research areas are Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela and Spain.
