On Tuesday, June 25, the presentation of the 29th edition of the International Yearbook CIDOB - 2019 was held, Cuba: Continuing or reforming? 60 years after the Revolution. On Tuesday, June 25, the presentation of the 29th edition of the International Yearbook CIDOB - 2019 was held, Cuba: Continuing or reforming? 60 years after the Revolution. The Caribbean state was selected as the prominent country profile of this year’s edition of the yearbook.

The event featured Cuban writer and journalist, Leonardo Padura, who celebrated the launch of the yearbook remembering that "relations between Cuba and Catalonia are close, historical and important". Subsequently, a debate was held with the participation of the experts Marie-Laure Geoffray, assistant professor of political science at the Institut des Hautes Etudes de l'Amérique Latine (IHEAL) and Raynier Pellón Azopardo, head of the research project and coordinator of the International Policy Scenarios Europe, International Policy Research Centre (CIPI). They both are members of the Jean Monnet Europe-Cuba Forum Network coordinated by Anna Ayuso, senior researcher at the CIDOB, who also moderated this session.

The yearbook presents diverse analyses and reflections by experts in global politics and international relations which aim to facilitate the understanding and knowledge of the dynamics and transformations of Cuban politics in the post-Castro era, the entry into the validity of the new Constitution and the context of the Cuban economy, society and culture. Some of the participants and institutions that make up the consortium of the Jean Monnet Europe-Cuba Forum Network participated in the elaboration of the articles, contributing to a better understanding and debate of the current situation of the island.
